Culture
Everyone talks about it, but talking doesn’t create culture. It grows organically within individuals, teams, departments and companies. Like anything living, if you don’t maintain it – it will suffer and decline. I believe in creating opportunities for culture to grow organically. Here are some examples.
Buttons of Praise
Sometimes corporate recognition feels a little rigid. I created buttons of praise as a way for anyone to recognize their coworkers for any reason. In addition to getting a custom slide and shout out in the monthly all hands, the recipient (pre-COVID) also left the meeting with an actual button that they could wear or keep at their desk. The giving of buttons of praise has turned into a highlight each month.

“Corporate culture matters. How management chooses to treat its people impacts everything - for better or for worse.”
— Simon Sinek
It’s the little things
I love giving people opportunities to connect, improve their relationships, and feel more engaged at work.

For this halloween, we gave different parts of the building a budget to decorate their area and create games for kids to play where they could wind candy and prizes.

"Acting mean" always includes a pot-luck salad bar with your work buddies doesn't it?

As Clearlink grew in size, I created the pen pals program so we could connect people with co-workers in other departments who they wouldn't normally interact with.

We have an amazingly talented workforce. This was a fun opportunity to give Clearlink musicians a platform to share their talent while lifting the spirits of their friends during a pandemic.

We created an internal conference as a way for each department share their vision for the future and solicit help from other teams and departments in seeing their plans through.

This was created to inspire simple acts of kindness and appreciation throughout the department.
Birthdays
They only come around once a year, and it doesn’t take much to make someone feel special. Applying photoshop skills to knowledge of someone’s loves and dreams is a powerful combination.
